Zoom Teeth Whitening
Many people associate professional teeth whitening with movie stars and brides - but in fact, it is the most popular procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Stained or discolored teeth are very common among adults of all ages, and come from a variety of sources, such as:
• Coffee
• Red Wine
• Soda
• Tea
• Tobacco
• Some Medications
Those of us with stained teeth tend to brush more vigorously; this can remove the enamel from your teeth, causing further discoloration and serious dental problems. Others use over-the-counter whitening kits, but they don't have the prescription strength and lasting effects of a professional teeth-whitening procedure.
The key to a long lasting, bright, white smile is to have them whitened by a cosmetic dentist before discoloration becomes too severe. Whether you choose an in-office or at-home procedure, you can be sure to receive solid advice, professional care, and a smile that will knock their socks off!

There are many reasons and causes as to why an individual may have discolored teeth. Some of those reasons can include smoking, drinking coffee, use of antibiotics or dental care neglect.
Whatever the reason for tooth discoloration, it is important to know that there are processes that can be utilized to whiten one’s teeth. Some of those teeth whitening techniques can include the use of teeth whitening strips, capping the teeth and laser tooth whitening. In addition, there are home processes that can be accomplished as well as being treated professionally.
If considering a laser teeth whitening process, it is important to know what laser teeth whitening is, how it works and what are some side-effects that may result.
Teeth whitening that utilizes a laser process is a cosmetic dentistry procedure. This process can help to eliminate or diminish various degrees of stains that appear on the teeth. Generally, the treatment provided by this teeth whitening process will help to lighten the stains appearing on the teeth in terms of shades. Often, a professionally accomplished teeth whitening process will whiten the teeth anywhere from two to five shades.
What Is Laser Teeth Whitening
There are two options available for an individual to have this procedure accomplished. The first option is to have a professional, such as Dr. Kristine Marshall, DDS, accomplish this work. This work is closely supervised at her dental office and is probably the safest and most effective way to have teeth whitening accomplished.
The second option for the person wanting this treatment on their teeth is to have the procedure done at home. Generally, this accomplished through the purchase of over-the-counter whitening kits. If deciding to take advantage of this option, it is important to follow the directions implicitly.
How The Process Works
The process of whitening the teeth utilizing a laser is fairly straight forward and involves the use of a bleaching agent and a laser light. The first step in the procedure is to separate the teeth from the gums and lips. This accomplished by simply masking the lips and gums. Once this step has been accomplished then a bleaching gel is applied uniformly to the teeth.
After the gel has been applied then the teeth are subjected to a laser light. This laser light helps the staining removing or bleaching process to be accelerated.
